Barnegat Lighthouse

Barnegat Lighthouse stands at the northern tip of Long Beach Island, New Jersey, overlooking the inlet where Barnegat Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Completed in 1859, the 172-foot tower was built to guide vessels through one of the most hazardous stretches of the New Jersey coast, long known for shifting shoals and strong currents.
