Five Mile Point Lighthouse
Five Mile Point Lighthouse stands at the entrance to New Haven Harbor in New Haven, Connecticut. Completed in 1847, the stone lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the busy harbor and the waters of Long Island Sound. Named for its location approximately five miles from the center of New Haven, the lighthouse played an important role in supporting the city's maritime commerce during the nineteenth century. Today, it remains a well-preserved landmark within Lighthouse Point Park and a symbol of Connecticut's coastal heritage.
This vintage-inspired Five Mile Point Lighthouse print celebrates one of Connecticut's most historic harbor lights. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's stone tower, waterfront setting, and enduring connection to New Haven's maritime past. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, coastal travelers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the character of a beacon that helped guide generations of vessels through Long Island Sound.
