Lynde Point Lighthouse
Lynde Point Lighthouse stands at the mouth of the Connecticut River in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, overlooking the point where one of New England's largest rivers meets Long Island Sound. First established in 1803, the current cast-iron lighthouse was completed in 1838 and has guided vessels navigating the river entrance and surrounding coastal waters for nearly two centuries. Positioned along a shoreline rich in maritime history, the lighthouse played an important role in supporting trade, fishing, and transportation throughout the region. Today, it remains one of Connecticut's most recognizable coastal landmarks.
This vintage-inspired Lynde Point Lighthouse print celebrates one of New England's most historic river lights. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's elegant tower, waterfront setting, and scenic views across Long Island Sound. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, coastal travelers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the enduring character of a beacon that has welcomed mariners to the Connecticut River for more than 180 years.
