Old Scituate Lighthouse
Old Scituate Lighthouse stands on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the approaches to Scituate Harbor. Completed in 1811, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the rocky shoreline of Massachusetts' South Shore and remains one of the oldest lighthouses in New England. The station is also remembered for the famous "Army of Two" incident during the War of 1812, when the lighthouse keeper's daughters reportedly helped deter a British landing. Today, the lighthouse remains a cherished symbol of Scituate's maritime heritage.
This vintage-inspired Old Scituate Lighthouse print celebrates one of Massachusetts' most historic coastal beacons. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's classic tower, rocky shoreline, and commanding ocean views. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, coastal travelers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the enduring character and unique history of a beacon that has watched over the South Shore for more than two centuries.
