Sea Girt Lighthouse
Sea Girt Lighthouse stands along the Jersey Shore in Sea Girt, New Jersey, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Completed in 1896, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the heavily traveled coastline between New York and Philadelphia. Unlike many traditional lighthouse towers, Sea Girt's light is integrated into a Victorian-style keeper's residence, creating one of the most distinctive lighthouse designs on the East Coast. The station also played an important role in early wireless communication experiments conducted by inventor Guglielmo Marconi. Today, it remains a cherished landmark of New Jersey's maritime heritage.
This vintage-inspired Sea Girt Lighthouse print celebrates one of the Atlantic Coast's most unique coastal beacons. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's distinctive architecture, oceanfront setting, and rich maritime history. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, Jersey Shore travelers, and collectors of American landmarks, this piece captures the character and history of a beacon that has watched over New Jersey's coastline for more than a century.
