Wood Island Lighthouse stands on Wood Island at the entrance to the Saco River near Biddeford Pool, Maine. First lit in 1808, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the river approaches and the coastal waters of southern Maine. The current tower, completed in 1858, overlooks rocky shoreline, sandy beaches, and the island-dotted waters of Saco Bay. Long associated with Maine's maritime commerce, fishing industry, and coastal communities, the lighthouse remains an enduring symbol of the region's seafaring heritage.

This vintage-inspired Wood Island Lighthouse print celebrates one of Maine's most historic coastal beacons. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's classic white tower, island setting, and scenic views across Saco Bay. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, coastal travelers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the timeless beauty and maritime character of a beacon that has guided mariners along the Maine coast for more than two centuries.
