Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse
Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse stands on the southwestern tip of Mount Desert Island within Acadia National Park, Maine. Established in 1858, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the entrance to Bass Harbor and the waters of Blue Hill Bay. Perched atop rugged granite cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Maine, the station is surrounded by spruce forests, rocky shoreline, and some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in New England. Today, it remains one of the most photographed and recognizable landmarks in Acadia National Park.
This vintage-inspired Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse print celebrates one of Maine's most iconic coastal beacons. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's cliffside setting, rugged shoreline, and enduring maritime character. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, national park travelers, coastal explorers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the beauty and history of a beacon that has guided mariners along the Maine coast for more than 165 years.
