About This Print

Cape St. George Lighthouse stands on St. George Island along Florida's Gulf Coast, overlooking the waters of Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The current lighthouse was reconstructed and reopened in 2008 using materials salvaged from the historic tower that was lost to coastal erosion and storms. Continuing a navigational legacy that dates to 1833, the lighthouse reflects the long maritime history of Florida's Forgotten Coast and the challenges of preserving landmarks in a dynamic coastal environment.
