Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse

Charlotte–Genesee Lighthouse stands at the mouth of the Genesee River in Rochester, New York, where the river meets Lake Ontario. First established in 1822, it was among the earliest lighthouses built on the Great Lakes and played an important role in guiding vessels serving Rochester's growing commercial and industrial economy. The current replica tower, completed in 2014 near the site of the original lighthouse, commemorates the maritime history that helped connect western New York to regional and international trade routes. Today, it remains a prominent symbol of Rochester's Great Lakes heritage.
