Coxsackie Lighthouse

Coxsackie Lighthouse stands on the Hudson River near the village of Coxsackie, New York. Completed in 1898, the distinctive cast-iron lighthouse was built to guide commercial vessels navigating the busy river channel connecting New York City with communities throughout the Hudson Valley. Resting on a cylindrical caisson foundation, the lighthouse is an excellent example of the "sparkplug" design commonly used on inland waterways during the late nineteenth century.
