Haig Point Lighthouse

Haig Point Lighthouse stands on the western shore of Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, overlooking Calibogue Sound between Hilton Head Island and the mainland. Completed in 1873, the lighthouse was built as part of a private estate and served as an important navigational aid for vessels traveling the region's tidal waterways. Unlike many traditional lighthouse stations, the structure was incorporated into a residence, creating a distinctive blend of maritime function and coastal architecture. Today, it remains one of the few surviving historic lighthouses in South Carolina and a notable landmark of the Lowcountry.
