Halfway Rock Lighthouse stands on a small granite ledge in Casco Bay, approximately ten miles offshore from Portland, Maine. Completed in 1871, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the busy shipping routes between Portland Harbor and the open waters of the Gulf of Maine. Exposed to harsh weather, powerful seas, and isolated conditions, the lighthouse occupies one of the most remote offshore sites on the New England coast. Today, it remains a striking symbol of Maine's maritime history and the challenges of navigation in the Gulf of Maine.

This vintage-inspired Halfway Rock Lighthouse print celebrates one of New England's most rugged offshore beacons. Drawing inspiration from the bold colors and simplified forms of WPA-era travel posters, the artwork highlights the lighthouse's solitary granite tower, dramatic ocean setting, and enduring connection to Maine's seafaring heritage. Designed for lighthouse enthusiasts, maritime historians, coastal travelers, and collectors of New England landmarks, this piece captures the isolation, resilience, and timeless character of a beacon that has safeguarded mariners for more than 150 years.
