Head of the Plains is a protected conservation area on the western side of Nantucket, preserving hundreds of acres of rolling moorlands, coastal grasslands, wetlands, and glacial outwash plains. Managed by the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, the landscape reflects the island's unique geological history while providing important habitat for migratory birds, rare native plants, and other wildlife. Its network of walking trails winds through one of Nantucket's largest undeveloped natural areas, offering visitors a peaceful experience of the island's distinctive coastal ecology.

This vintage-inspired Head of the Plains print celebrates the open landscapes of Nantucket through the bold design language of classic WPA-era travel posters. Rolling heathlands, native grasses, and expansive skies are rendered in a timeless style that captures the quiet beauty and natural character of this remarkable conservation area. Created for hikers, birders, nature enthusiasts, and collectors of New England's scenic landscapes, this piece honors the ecology, conservation, and enduring beauty that define Head of the Plains.

5% of every sale from our Nantucket Collection is donated to organizations that support the preservation and protection of the landscapes and coastlines that make this island so special.
