Absecon Lighthouse

Absecon Lighthouse rises above Atlantic City, New Jersey, as the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the third tallest masonry lighthouse in the United States. Completed in 1857, the 171-foot tower was built to guide vessels navigating the busy waters along the New Jersey coast and approaching Absecon Inlet. Constructed from more than three million bricks, the lighthouse played a vital role in the region's maritime commerce during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Today, it remains one of Atlantic City's most important historic landmarks, offering visitors panoramic views of the coastline, city skyline, and surrounding barrier islands.
