About This Print

Watch Hill Lighthouse stands on the southwestern tip of Rhode Island in the village of Watch Hill, overlooking Block Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. First established in 1808, the lighthouse was built to guide vessels navigating the busy coastal waters between Long Island, Block Island, and southern New England. The current granite tower, completed in 1856, occupies a commanding position above the rocky shoreline and historic harbor. Today, it remains one of Rhode Island's most recognizable coastal landmarks and a symbol of the state's maritime heritage.
